Habakkuk 2:1-2
I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me,
And what I will answer when I am corrected.
2 Then the Lord answered me and said:
“Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
I was taught the Holy Spirit is not speaking because we are live out of the Bible. The Holy Spirit stopped moving when the last apostle died. If that it was true then it would not be the Holy Spirit but the Apostles. The Bible says, “I’m to live by the Spirit.” If that is true then I was living by the “law.” The letter of the law kills but the Spirit gives life.
How do we flow in the Holy Spirit is there is no communication? Jesus is intimate with the Holy Spirit.
FOUR KEYS EXEMPLIFIED IN HABAKKUK:
Key #1; I will stand at my guardpost or watch.
Quiet yourself in the Lord… Your prayer closet, soaking room, worship. Make a switch form you left brain to your right brain. Some people are leary of this because of the doctrine of demons. What did Jesus say in Matthew 7:7-11, “7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
He promises You won’t receive stones from a demon when you ask for Holy Spirit.
We are allowed to hear God’s voice. Psalms 62:5, “My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my [c]expectation is from Him.”
Key #2: I will keep watch and see.
Fix Your Eyes On Jesus and Look for a vision as you pray. What ever faculty you don’t give to God, Satan will fill it. Meditate in Hebrew means, “Imagine.” Yield your heart to Jesus.
Acts 2:25, “For David says concerning Him:‘I foresaw the Lord always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.”
Key #3: What He will speak to me.
God’s voice often comes in Spontaneous thought. Notice that when you flow in the Holy Spirit hearing and vision is linked. Jesus is Immanuel/ God’s voice within us. Ask the Holy Spirit to take over your thoughts and celebrate! Relax and flow in Holy Spirit’s thoughts. What do you see in your minds eye?
John 7:37-39, 37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those [a]believing in Him would receive; for the [b]Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”
Key #4: Then The Lord said, “Record the vision…”
Write down the flow of thoughts of the Holy Spirit. Journal what is called two way journaling. Two way journaling is faith and flow. Asking with faith that God will hear and answer and flow is the thoughts of the Holy Spirit.
Write in faith and not test at this time. Don’t doubt or test what you write. Later after you have done faith and flow journaling then you can show it to two or three seasoned saints who flow in the Holy Spirit. So, this exercise is not about testing. Just faith and flow.
Memorize the four keys: Hearing God’s voice is as simple as quieting yourself down, fixing your eyes on Jesus, tuning to spontaneity of Holy Spirit and writing it down.
Four Lies of Satan:
1. Dispensationalism: God never speaks like this.
2. Demythologization: Natural man doesn’t discern God.
3. You have to earn the right to hear God’s voice:
Galatians 3:2-5, “2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have you suffered so [c]many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5 Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
4. It can’t be this easy: This is just my thoughts.
Five Ways to be sure what you are hearing is from God:
1. Test the origin flowing.
a. Analytical thought- would you write that down or think that way?
2. Compare it to biblical principles- lives up to God’s word.
3. Compare to the names of God/Jesus.
4. Test It’s fruit- is it good or bad.
5. Share it two or three spiritual advisors-does your heart bear witness it is from God.
FAITH IN FLOW Principle
The principle of Faith: Hebrew 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”
The principle of Flow: John 7:38-39, “He who believes in Me as the scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water,’” But this He spoke of the Spriit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive.”
The “Faith in Flow” Principle: The gifts of the Holy Spirit operate through the one who in faith, yields his faculties to the river of God which flows within.
