Saying the Blessings
Say the blessings in Hebrew as transliterated.
First, say,
Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech HaOlam, asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu l’hadlik ner shel Hanukkah.
Blessed are You, O Lord Our God, Ruler of the Universe, Who has sanctified us with Your commandments and commanded us to kindle the lights of Hanukkah.
Then say,
Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech HaOlam, she’asah nisim l’avoteinu, b’yamim haheim bazman hazeh.
Blessed are You, O Lord our God, Ruler of the Universe, Who made miracles for our forefathers in those days at this season.
There was just enough olive oil to burn the lamp stand candle for one day. The Maccabees put a demand on their faith knowing their was just enough oil to burn for one day. It took eight days of travel to get more sanctified oil. Yet the lamp stand burned for eight days.
Like the boy with five loaves and two fishes and the widow of Zaraphath, they did not curse the just enough. Don’t curse the just enough. In your life. Put a demand on it by faith and watch God Provide supernaturally. Isn’t Adonai our Father Awesome?
