The Blood of Yeshua Speaks a Better Word

This Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at sunset begins the High Holy Feasts of Yom Kippur. Why is Yom Kippur/The Day of Atonement considered the Highest Holy Day in the Biblical calendar? How is it more Holier than Yeshua, King Jesus Dying on the Cross? Since as Disciples of Yeshua and believers of His death, burial, and resurrection do we need to celebrate and honor The Day of Atonement? These are questions I have asked myself over the years.

For the answer God directed me to His word in Hebrews 9:1, “Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary. 2 For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the [a]sanctuary; 3 and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All, 4 which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant; 5 and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.”

According to Hebrew 9:4, there are three testimonies in the Mercy Seat from the Old Law: golden pot of manna, Aaron’s Rod, and the Two Tablets of the Ten Commandments. These three testimonies cry out for a sacrifice for the law to be fulfilled. If not for the Blood of Yeshua, King Jesus the Law would not be fulfilled for mankind because there is no longer in the natural the shedding of blood with sprinkling on the mercy seat for the atonement of sin. Hebrews 9 tells us that Jesus did this for all mankind.

When Jesus died on the Cross and was in the grave according to Colossians 2: 13-15 says, “And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the [i]handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

When Jesus was in the grave before He went to Hell to disarm Satan and all his demons of their authority and legal right to mankind, Jesus as our High Priest sprinkled His own blood on the Mercy Seat cancelling and wiping out the handwriting requirements against us. This is why Yom Kippur/Day of Atonement is the Holiest of Days of all The Feasts of our Lord. Satan has no legal right through the Blood of Yeshua. Instead of the Law demanding judgement, the Blood of Yeshua sprinkled on the Mercy Seat has fulfilled the requirement for us. The Blood of Jesus Speaks a Better Word. Can get a Hallelujah?
