“G’mar chatima Tova” is Hebrew for the greeting, “may your name be written in the Book of Life”, the traditional greeting during Yom Kippur(Day of Atonement.). Day of Atonement began tonight at sundown and continues until tomorrow evening, September 28th at sundown. It is the Highest Holy Day in the Biblical Calendar. First of all Yeshua is our Atoning Sacrifice, Hebrew 9: 11-15.
Secondly it is the work of Yeshua, King Jesus’ work on the cross that seals our redemption and breaks the yoke of sin and it’s curse.
It was at Yom Kippur Yeshua, King Jesus was Baptized in the Jordan:
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.
Hebrews 6:1-3
We’ve been taught Baptism is a testimony of a inner work. But that is just not all of the reason for Baptism. If that is true, then why was Yeshua, King Jesus Baptized? Because there was no sin in Him. He was the perfect Lamb of God. During Yom Kippur ever Jewish person presented himself for Baptism. They knew that going into water was
- BREAKING OFF OF ALL LIMITATIONS
- BREAKING OF ALL CURSES BROUGHT ABOUT THROUGH DISOBEDIENCE
- BREAKING OF THE FAILURE MINDSET
He came up out of the water and the Holy Spirit rested upon Him. His Father said, “this is my Son whom I am well pleased.”
Every Jewish person believe Messiah would come on Yom Kippur. And He did! At Yom Kippur Yeshua became the Lamb of God and Atonement all man’s sin.
The Mikvah was the Baptismal tank in the Temple. Every priest before they ministered would go into the water, in the Mikvah, including Yeshua.
According to John 3, without being born of water, cutting off all the limitations of the world(earth) womb, you cannot be born of the Spirit.
This afternoon we baptized over 30 people cutting all limitations off of them for the new year, 5781. It was a glorious time of God’s weighty glory upon all who participated. I challenge you before tomorrow night at sundown to enter into the Mikvah(Baptism) and allow God to cut off your limiatations of this past year so you may walk in the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In Hebraic thought, Tomorrow evening God’s book of Life and Book of Record will be sealed for another year. It is during this 24 hour period God determines fo us His Blessing to be poured out.
If you have a pool, bathtub, shower, or a bowl by faith enter into the Mikvah and experience God’s freedom and deliverance. Shalom!
