If Yeshua was born on a Feast of the Lord, if He died on the cross and resurrected from the grave on a Feast of the Lord, and He poured out Holy Spirit on a Feast of The Lord, and He is coming back again on a Feast of The Lord, then don’t you think it is important for God’s people to honor His Feast by remembering them?
In the next 4 days the we will see the greatest convergence of God’s Appointed Times, His High Holy Feasts the world has yet seen. Why? Four days from now on September 9th is the End of the last month of the Biblical Calendar for this Biblical year 5778, Elul 29. The next day, September 10th in the blink of an eye is Rosh Hashanah, The Head of the Year, which ends the Biblical Year 5778 and begins the Biblical year 5779. Not only is this the Biblical New Year, it also is the Birthday of the creation of the earth spoken in Genesis 1 and 2. This is the day when God looks at the Book of Life and notes the record of every one living to see what good they have done for the previous year. What have they done to better the world? Have they bettered the Kingdom of God or have they been a detriment? Have they given to help the poor, the needy, and the Orphans and Widows? Rabbis have taught this is the time when God determines whether you will die or live in the New Year. Jewish people are taught to make things right in every area of their lives. The 10 days between Rosh Hashanah, September 10-11 and Yom Kippur, September 19 is the time of turning and repenting.
These past 40 days before Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) September 19th, Israel has been blowing the rams horn preparing all of the people for this day. Rosh Hashanah means “rams horn” or the turning in repentance (Teshuvah.) Then Yom Kippur is the culmination of the shedding of blood in the Holy Hollies. In ancient times once you heard the ram’s horn, it was time to focus on salvation. If you heard it, then you were to blow it so your neighbor could hear it. It would be blown from household to household so that all of Israel would know the time and season and no one miss out.
Not only is this the time turning away from the old in repentance, but it also the time when God determines the blessings you will walk in the new year. Debbie and I have been blowing our rams horn every morning and will continue until September 19th. Listen to what Numbers 10: 9-10 says, ““When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the LORD your God.”
Did you get that? When you blow your trumpet you will be remembered by God and He will save you from your enemies. And you shall be a memorial before the Lord. Does blowing a rams horn have any supernatural significance in your life? Well, does water baptism have any? Does the laying on of hands for healing? The answer is YES! Because God said so! Three times a year God ask us to remember Him so He can bless us. Let me ask a simple question, is God available to us 24/7? Yes He is. But just like the Sun always shines 365 days a year. Here in Texas it is 110 degrees but in January it will be 30 or 40 degrees. Same Sun still shining. So with God he is always available to us, but three times a year He is nearest to bless His covenant with those who have an ear and hear what He is saying.
This is also the time when the King Is In Your Field. It is the story of the Old Testament book of Ruth. Boaz is the King. Ruth who is an Widow returns back to Jerusalem to follow her Mother in law, Naomi. Ruth is destitute and every day gleams in the field for grain. Boaz, her Kinsmen Redeemer, who is a typology of Yeshua, sees her and tells his servants to leave more than enough grain for her at the corner of the field. He eventually meets her and marries her in covenant as his Bride. During this Biblical Season the King is in your field to re-establish His Covenant with you during The Feast of Tabernacle
